I was just wondering if anyone has heard of social anxiety in children? I tried to go on a date tonight and got so nervous that I threw up (this has happened before) well I am 29. So I got home and started thinking way back into my life and I am thinking I might have been having this my whole life. I am really embarassed to talk to my doctor about it too, I know I shouldn’t be but every time I try to, I chicken out, so I was just wondering if people out there with this condition have had it a long time or if it just all of a sudden develops.
Believe it or not, I have that "disorder". I become ill in social areas. I have anxiety, I sweat, I`m nervous and I just want to exit-Fast. I began having this in my early 20`s. Doctors cannot do anything about this. Although, ! remedy that works for me is, I take a shot of vodka then a breath mint before I socialize. I do not recommend this for just anyone. But, it helps me greatly. p.s. I don’t drive after -S
it is typical for anxiety disorders to appear in young adulthood. i didn’t start experiencing OCD symptoms until the age of 18. your social anxiety may be the primary reason for why you can’t tell your doctor. but know that a great number of people deal with things like this, and doctors here this stuff all the time. try to get a psychiatrist to prescribe antidepressants for you. they also work for anxiety. this should help.

it develops. and don’t contact no doctor. and don’t take medicine to solve this problem, they key is within your mind.
find the problem, why we don’t feel anxiety around family members, but we become so nervous around people who don’t know much? because family members care about you, whatever you do, they may forgive you or just let it go. when a person is around strangers, she/he thinks too much of what others thinks of her/him, a person feels like every body is starring at him/her. the solution is to not worry about what others may think of you, and also imagine that each one of these individuals have alot of secret issues.

This is very common. See a doctor. They have heard everything under the sun! Tell them everything you just told us, and they may prescribe SSRI medication or refer you to psychologist – hopefully both. Cognitive therapy will help you change ingrained thoughts and habits, and the medication will help with the nervousness. You have nothing to be embarassed about at all. Best wishes, and please let us know how you get on.
