I would know about this.. To overcome it is to distract your mind constantly. The main reason why anxiety can effect a particular person so much is because they are used to feeling anxious all the time and having that anxiety realeased as a rection to certain events and situations (or any for that matter) that it's practically built into their subconscious.

If you take your mind away from the feelings just for a certain amount of time you can rewrite these subconcious feelings. Almost in many different ways. It's interesting and I used to have very BAD anxiety. I get it from my mother but also because of many stressful things that happen all around us. I used to get panic attacks all the time and the simplist thing in the world could make me worried.

But you can ask my friends that I talked to about my panic attacks (not many because not many people get it, or they don;t understand how it really feels) and they would say there's not a chance in the world that I would be the king of person to get anxiety attacks. Not now I don't ofcourse but I did.. and I would feel like I was going to die or that I had to escape and feel secure. But I just used to fight it.

Now I am actually glad (weird comment ensues ;) )that I had all these terrible feelings and horrible sensations because now it feels like nothing else can be much worse and it empowers me. I feel so much stronger. I don't know if you were just asking this question out of interest of because of your own personal problems but if it's the latter feel free to send me a shout through my profile and I'm happy to talk anytime I can.

But the more you put yourself in situations the more you will be able to cope with them. But the best way is to get in calm and confident and very relaxed.

Excersize helps me get rid of stress and anxiety alot.
References :
When i was 13 to 16, i faced major anxiety, to a point where i didn't even want to go out.

From personal experience, you need to fake the confidence until you gain it, and tell your self it'll be fine. Think about someone thats close, mum, dad, boyfriend. If you don't sort it out, you'll always have fears, they'll eventually take over your life, if not sorted.

Just get on with life, your just another human being, there are millions of people just like you, that think different and have a great life, regardless of appearance and anything else.
References :
I find the best way in just doing something and not thinking about it, just facing it head on. At the end of the day you have got to face your fears otherwise they will take over your life and you'll never gain control again. I have severe social anxiety. I wanted to go back to school but was really scared, new people, new situations, talking in front of loads of people, my worst nightmare. But I went to school, had it really rough from Sept til Christmas but I persevered and I've finished my course and I came out with some really good friendships. I'm glad I didn't quit. It's the only way not to let it beat you
References :
Personal experience
